Argentina international Exequiel Palacios has revealed Arsenal and Real Madrid are eyeing him up.
The 20-year-old is considered to be one of the best young players currently in South America. He nearly moved to Real Madrid last summer but an injury halted his move to Spain.
River Plate star Palacios missed out on the Copa America due to a hamstring injury.
But he could still be making waves this summer after pointing out the interest from Arsenal.
Asked about his future, Palacios said: ‘I’m proud clubs like Real Madrid and Arsenal are interested in me.’
Palacios is thought to have an £18million release clause written into his contract, although his move to Real would have been worth around £20m.
An £18m fee would suit Arsenal, given their restricted budget after missing out on the Champions League.
Unai Emery has cast his eye towards South America this summer and has also taken an interest in Boca Juniors pair Nahitan Nandez and Emanuel Reynoso.
Palacios played a key role as River won the Copa Libertadores against their fierce rivals Boca.
