Jets star Le’Veon Bell accuses his girlfriends of stealing more than $500,000 of his jewelry

Authorities say two female acquaintances vanished with more than half a million dollars in jewelry from New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell’s Florida home.

Police in Hollywood, Florida said the NFL star Bell returned to his mansion there from the gym on May 25 and found the women gone and all of his his jewelry missing.

The police report refers to the two women as Bell’s ‘girlfriends’ but does not identify them.

Bell said items in his closet were in disarray and all his jewelry was missing, including two gold chains with diamonds, a Black Panther pendant with black and white diamonds and a Rolex.

The stolen items total $520,000. Police said they are investigating and there is no report yet of arrests in the case.

Later on the same day as the theft, Bell posted a series of photos in Instagram showing him posing with the purloined pendant.

He captioned the photos: ‘oh you thought it was sweet huh?’ along with a cat-face emoji, apparently referring to the pendant.

In March, Bell signed a four-year, $52.5 million deal – including $35 million guaranteed -after sitting out last season with Pittsburgh in a contract dispute.

On Tuesday, Bell took part in on-field workouts at the New York Jets’ mandatory minicamp, after skipping most of the team’s spring voluntary workouts.

He worked with the first-team offense in 11-on-11 drills in what was his first competitive football since January 2018, when he last played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bell sat out last season in a contract dispute and signed a four-year, $52.5 million contract with the Jets.

Head coach Adam Gase said Bell wouldn’t have a full workload because of the long layoff from team drills.
